LEARNING GOALS:
Communication (Written, Oral, and Visual)
This multi-discipline skill has to do with expressing ideas, interpretations, and arguments through a variety of mediums, a core practice in any subject. One aspect is written communication which directs us to practice essay organization, thesis statements, paragraph organization, and conventions/style. Another aspect is oral communication, sharing ideas and insights through dynamic speech. This will direct us to practice organization of content, verbal projections, nonverbal cues, and participation as an audience member. The last aspect is visual communication, representing ideas and concepts in multimedia formats, which will direct us to practice organization of content and design. See the resources below for specific course resources; the rubric, in particular, gives the best sense of the expectations for achieving proficiency in this learning goal.
