Analysis (Textual and Mathematical)
This discipline-based skill has to do with analyzing and interpreting fiction and non-fiction texts, a core practice in English / Language Arts and the process of analyzing statistics to obtain key information and insight into a given topic, a core element of mathematics.. The textual aspect of this learning goal will direct us to look at the ideas, diction, and overall content present in a text and how they each contribute to a central purpose in the writing. The mathematical aspect of the learning goal will direct us towards a number of processes aimed at breaking down statistical data: graphing, modeling, validity assessment, interpretation, and application. The rubric below gives the best sense of the expectations for achieving proficiency in this learning goal.
